The Business of Passenger Experience

Iberia‘s next generation of A350 aircraft will offer business class suites, including a sliding door for privacy. Parent company IAG’s CEO Luis Gallego slipped that nugget into the latest quarterly earnings report as one example of the Group’s investment in passenger-facing product.
The first one with a new flat club class suite will be available from December 2023. This new business class will have the Recaro CL suite with sliding doors to provide full privacy.
Details are limited, but the seat appears to be a version of the Recaro CL6720. That is the newest and nicest of the business class seats on offer from Recaro.
It also will not take flight for the airline until the end of next year. The airline expects to add eight more A350s to its fleet by the end of 2024. Exact delivery timing is unclear, but at least some of these will have the new seats on board.
Gallego also did not specify if the existing aircraft would be retrofit with the new product. Given the relatively young age of the current A350s, however, an interior refresh seems unlikely in the near-term.
