As we count impatiently down the hours until the first cars hit the Motor Circuit for the 2022 Goodwood Revival, watching all of the best action from last years’ event is one way of killing time. Today we’ve picked out this quite brilliant footage of Emanuele Pirro racing a 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta ti in the 2021 St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul.

We get two excellent views here, one of the action as Emanuele sees it through the windscreen, and a second incredible view of him working the wheel and pedals in what is a constant race-long workout. Simply watching him drive is exciting enough, but the on-road battles he’s engaged in, particularly a multi-lap dual with Anthony Reid in a Jaguar Mk1, are equally entertaining.
