If your commute could involve assassination and kidnapping attempts, you can breathe a sigh of relief as INKAS has introduced an armored version of the redesigned Lexus LX.

Currently available for worldwide delivery, the armored LX 600 has been designed to provide CEN 1063 BR6 levels of protection. This means the SUV can withstand the simultaneous explosion of two DM51 hand grenades as well as attacks involving assault rifles firing 7.62mm ammunition.

To ensure the model can withstand all but the strongest attacks, INKAS outfitted the Lexus with ballistic glass, a door frame overlap system, and a heavily protected passenger compartment. The model also boasts a reinforced suspension, underbody fortifications, as well as armoring for the fuel tank and engine compartment. Since fleeing offers the best chance of survival, the LX also rides on run-flat tires.

An assortment of options are available including strobe lights, night vision cameras, and a fire suppression system for the engine bay. Customers can also order a siren and a public address system, with the latter enabling occupants to stay safely inside the vehicle while talking to those outside. Other upgrades include heavy duty wheels, door assist systems, “emergency escape solutions,” and a specially developed 10-piston heavy duty braking system that will arrive later this year.

Under the hood, there’s a familiar twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that produces 409 hp (301 kW / 415 PS) and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a ten-speed automatic transmission, which is paired to a full-time four-wheel drive system. This setup enables the standard model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.9 seconds, but it’s probably safe to assume the armored variant is quite a bit slower.
